About the YAC
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a committee of passionate young people aged 15 to 25 who want to make a difference in their community. Being a part of the committee is a great way to improve your leadership skills, build your professional resume, and to be influential in local government decision making.
The purpose of YAC is to be the voice of young people to Council, providing advice and feedback in relation to the opinions of young people within the local area. The YAC focuses on meaningful youth participation and will work collaboratively to discuss key initiatives as outlined by Council and the Council Plan 2021 – 31 to ensure young people’s views and opinions are well represented.
We strongly encourage applications from youngpeople from diverse communities, including:
Culturally and linguistically diverse (including international students, refugees, migrants etc.)
LGBTQIA+
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
Young people with disability
The EOI form will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete.
Further details about YAC can be found here on our webpage.
